Electronic Theatre Screening

The San Francisco chapter of SIGGRAPH and Sony are pleased to announce the screening of the entire 2007 Electronic Theatre. The show will be introduced by SIGGRAPH 2007 Computer Animation Festival Chair Paul Debevec and shows in full high definition on an amazing Sony SXRD 4K projector courtesy of Sony Electronics. The Electronic Theatre is the premier computer graphics film and video showcase that is part of the Computer Animation Festival each year at the SIGGRAPH conference. The conference was held in August 2007 in San Diego and as usual the Electronic Theatre was one of the favored events.

Wildbrain - CG Supervisor

WILDBRAIN is an award-winning animation studio that develops and produces content for the global film, television and commercial markets. Wild Brain also creates and distributes designer toys through its retail subsidiary, Kidrobot, Inc.

We are seeking a CG Supervisor to work on animated commercials, shorts, and long form projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, mentor and supervise team of CG Technical Directors.

• Support Production and Directors in defining creative and technical methodologies for each project, as well as bidding staffing, resource allocation, and timelines.

• Work closely with each director to implement the visual style for each project.

• Provide technical leadership and production oversight to TD’s, animators and artists over the course of each production.

• Facilitate interdepartmental communication as it relates to technical issues and problem-solving.

• Manage the programming team in implementing efficient and scalable CG pipelines and quality control practices for both data and workflow processes.

• Supervise and aid in the research, development and implementation of new tools and techniques.

• Manage development of training programs for new and existing personnel.

Qualifications:

• Strong leadership, management and mentoring skills. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.

• Minimum 2 years in CG supervisory role for commercials, television and/or film projects.

• Thorough knowledge of lighting, effects and render management.

• Knowledge of character animation production methodologies and pipelines.

• Strong communication skills – must be able to clearly articulate creative and technical issues to directors, artists, technical directors, and production.

• Maya, Shake, Mental Ray experience is essential. Experience with Linux-Windows integration a plus.
